10 Curvy Fashion Labels You Need to Try and You Will Love | Curvy Style Guide
Saturday, 5 May 2018
Hey everyone!
Being curvy and loving fashion was a bad thing in India till a few years ago. Ask me why? Well, because hardly any brands understood the fashion needs of curvy and plus size women. While I used to find my size with many brands, a lot of my friends had difficulty finding trendy clothes as most curvy fashion brands made clothes that were anti-fit and boring.
Thankfully, when a lot of international brands started introducing plus size lines along with their main lines; Indian brands also realised that this market has a lot of potential as women in India also started loving their curves and wanted to flaunt them in the best away.
I also realised this when I had introduced the section 'Curvy Style Guide' on my blog, and many of my followers came up to me and told me how much they appreciate my posts and that it helped them feel confident about flaunting latest trends no matter what size they are.
Last week, I received a few queries regarding the best available brands for curvy women, so I have made a list of 10 brands including a few of my favourites that are doing plus size fashion right :
- ASOS : One brand that I truly admire and love shopping from regularly is ASOS. They have a Curve line and includes many styles as an extension to their regular line. If you are looking for trendy dresses, tops or even swimwear - you can trust to find the best designs at ASOS.
The international shipping could be one con, but it's nothing if you want the best fashion for curvy sizes. You can read my earlier online shopping experience with ASOS here.
- Half Full Curve :
I came across this brand while reading an article online and loved their classy dresses that you can pick for special occasions. Though the number of styles available currently on their website are limited, but have few beautiful draped dresses for those cocktail parties.
- Marks & Spencer :
The high street fashion house has off late started including styles till size UK 24 in the plus size line and is one of the best options if you wish to buy office wear or smart casuals.
- StalkBuyLove :
If you love fast fashion, you would admire the chic styles and reasonable prices of StalkBuyLove which offers plus size apparel and introduces new designs regularly.
- Amydus :
I haven't tried this brand myself, as they don't offer my size. But they include plus sizes, starting from Size 0 (here it is UK Size 16) and goes up to size 5 (UK 26) and includes western wear as well as ethnic wear like kurtas and palazzos in their collection.
- Afamado :
Unlike other plus size brands which only offer bigger sizes, Afamado offers all styles in sizes varying from XS to 6X, therefore making sure that any woman who is looking for trendy clothes online can pick a style no matter what their size is.
- Lastinch :
If you are looking for wardrobe basics likes casual tees, tops, maxi dresses and more, you can try Lastinch which offers comfortable and reasonable clothing for women with curves.
- MANGO :
I didn't know about the plus size line Violeta by MANGO until I checked out their website recently. While I didn't see a lot of the plus size clothes in their stores, the website offers a wide range of styles in tops, dresses, bottom wear, swimwear and more in sizes upto 54, that you can get delivered anywhere in India.
- Faballey :
Another fast fashion label, Faballey has a lot of its regular styles available in plus sizes (just like the dress I am wearing above from their regular line) - therefore being more size-inclusive and offering latest high-street trends at reasonable prices.
- Calae :
Again, I haven't tried this brand personally as they don't keep my size, but I loved the styles that they have. While other brands focus on just a couple of styles with mostly neutral colours, Calae had off-shoulder, one-shoulder styles in variety of colours that are perfect for every occasion.
Love

( PS : A lot of plus size brands start from UK Size 16 or 2XL (like Asos Curve, Amydus etc), while others start at UK Size 12 or L .)

OOTD : Floral Love - What I wore to my Blogiversary Party | Floral Maxi Dress
Saturday, 16 July 2016
Hey everyone!
Hope you are all enjoying the weekend and the amazing weather. I am so glad monsoon is finally back with a bang in Delhi with rains almost every day since last week. I have to spend the hours at work, but my work desk offers an amazing view of the mini garden at work which looks absolutely incredible during rains. (which reminds me, next time it rains, I definitely have to take a picture and publish on Instagram!)
Coming back to today's outfit post, which is totally dear to me as this is the outfit I wore to celebrate 5 years of blogging with my lovely friends.
While last year I was totally digging midi-dresses, this year I am all about maxi dresses. I have purchased 7-8 maxi dresses in last 2 months alone (need to share my shopping hauls ASAP)!
So, when I saw this beautiful floral maxi dress on Faballey, I was immediately drawn to it - also because I am a fan of off-shoulder style. It has a sheer upper with a short lining which gives it a very classy peek-a-boo appeal.
I paired it with an infinity pendant from Swarovski and multi-colored earrings that I had purchased sometime back from Romwe. As I had to be the perfect host during the event, which required me to be on my toes throughout, I chose my stylish yet very comfortable wedges from River Island.
My Tommy Hilfiger handbag helped me keep all my essentials in place. Have a look at the details of the complete outfit in the pictures below :

TSD 5th Blogiversary Spa Party at ELLE Spa & Salon, Crowne Plaza Mayur Vihar | #TSDTurns5 Spa Party
Tuesday, 5 July 2016
Hey lovely people!
We are in July already and it makes me feel surprised about how half of the year passed by in a jiffy.June happens to be our Blogiversary month, and this June we celebrated our 5th Blogiversary. I really can't believe how I have survived 5 years of blogging, when I had started this blog just as a platform to share my shopping hauls and never thought it would last this long.
I still remember when I used to click pictures of my new outfits inside my hostel room, my friends used to laugh at my weird Hobby, but well who would have had imagined that The Shopaholic Diaries - a blog I started as a hobby but proved to be my passion - would complete 5 years successfully.
To celebrate the 5th Blogiversary with our friends & fans, we organized a Spa party in collaboration with ELLE Spa & Salon and Crowne Plaza Mayur Vihar, Delhi.
ELLE Spa & Salon is a contemporary luxury brand launched by Sanghvi Brands-ELLE joint venture in India and the Indian Ocean region recently.
The spa promises a relaxing journey with aromatic scents, soft lighting, airy atmosphere & warm décor, rejuvenating the mind, body & soul. I'll cover more about the spa in my next post.
ELLE Spa & Salon is located at Crowne Plaza Mayur Vihar - an excellent 5-star property located right in my neighborhood, which is a one-stop place for one to enjoy awesome multi-cuisine food, a relaxing spa and an outdoor swimming pool - all this in the neighborhood of East Delhi.
A complete review of the property would be done in the next post!
To celebrate our 5 years journey of blogging, many dear friends and regular readers of the blog joined us for a Spa party and Hi-Tea.

Post the relaxing spas, we moved to the Hi-tea by the pool organized by the amazing Crowne Plaza team that included refreshing iced teas, cappuccinos, munch-ons, delish pizzas, rolls and more.
Gladly, everyone had a great time at the event and it ended up to be a nice meetup over spas and teas that helped us rejuvenate while catching up together at one platform.
While we were all gearing up to leave, the ELLE Spa & Salon team organized a mini Giveaway for all the guests where each one of us got to win exciting spa vouchers.

The guests also took home some amazing goodies sponsored by our jewellery partner ZOTIQQ and outfit partner FABALLEY. (Complete outfit post would be up soon)
The entire event wouldn't have been possible without the amazing work of ELLE Spa & Salon and the hospitality by Crowne Plaza Mayur Vihar.
So, I would like to say thank you to each one of the lovely people who attended, the spa and hotel staff, and ofcourse to each one of you reading this post- because without your support, we would not have had been celebrating our 5th Blogiversary.
PS : An exciting Giveaway is coming up next week! Stay tuned.

Hey everyone!
I am back with another Outfit post featuring one of my favorite trends this season. I have always looked out to add timeless dresses to my wardrobe, and the shirt-dress is my all-time favorite.
And a flowy, printed shirt dress is all you need this summer to get many looks out of one basic staple.
That's why when I received this lovely dress from Faballey in mail, I instantly fell in love with its breezy style and figure-flattering silhouette. I loved how it's casual yet very dressy to be worn for a romantic evening or a day out with your BFFs.
I styled this polka dots dress with a sleek belt to define the waist. To complete the look and add a pop of color to my outfit, I wore my new strappy heels from Steve Madden that are totally chic and glamorous.
I accessorized the look with a Forever 21 necklace and a graphic clutch from Kazo. Have a look at the complete outfit :
Shirt dresses are available at many brands like Faballey, Koovs, ZARA, KAZO, Vero Moda and more in various styles and designs. Pick a style that would flatter your size the most.
You can go for a knee length buttoned shirt dress and pair it with loafers for a minimal chic style. If you like a casual, sporty style; pick a dress and pair it with sneakers for a look that is a must-try this summer.
Get a bohemian look by pairing your shirt dress with a belt, a trendy boho bag over your shoulders, and finish the look with a pair of suede ankle booties!
Loved this look? Let me know your views in the Comments below.

OOTD - Going Retro In a Shirt Dress | Curvy Style Guide
Saturday, 25 June 2016
Hey everyone!
Here's the first outfit post of December featuring a beautiful skirt and off-shoulder top from Faballey.com . And if you are wondering what's up with the post title, well it's the famous song by Meghan Trainor that I am tuned to a lot these days. Also, this outfit is a part of the Curvy Style Guide which makes the song that promotes positive body image, a perfect title to the OOTD.
If you haven't heard about this cool online fashion brand yet, then you need to know that FabAlley is the ultimate Indian fashion destination for fashion-forward, indie-chic girls.
I have been a fan of maxi skirts a lot these days, especially the ones with a sheer pattern that have a flirty yet chic appeal, so when I checked out the amazing collection of skirts at Faballey, I was tempted to have it in my closet. This off-white lace maxi skirt is crafted in crochet and has a peekaboo effect with its short inner skirt. I paired the skirt with a Faballey bright blue top featuring polka dots and an off-shoulder neck, to add a dash of color and style to the look.
To complete the look, I carried my Baggit mini cross-body bag which was also featured in the Bollywood movie Bang-Bang. This cute little bag comes in a suede like fabric and has a stylish chain with 2 different pockets spacious enough to store your casual day-out essentials.
