OOTD - I Have Nothing To Wear | How to Style a Voluminous Skirt | Curvy Style Guide
Thursday 31 March 2016
Hey lovelies!
Hope you all are doing well and enjoying the Cricket season. I am really excited to watch the WT20 Semi-final tonight and really hoping that we reach the finals and get the trophy.
Well, I am back with an Outfit post - one of the outfits that I wore to the recently held Amazon India Fashion Week.
Fashion Weeks are really crazy and confusing when it comes to dressing up, as all everyone can think of (even more than looking at the designers' collections) is to stand out of the crowd, even if that makes them look wacky and outrageous.
But even in this battle of Best Street Style, I always tend to dress up casually and comfortably - that reflects my personal style. During this season of AIFW, I woke up one fine day and realized I had really nothing to wear ( I know all of us face this atleast 3-4 times a week :D).
I had really wanted to wear this beautiful voluminous skirt from Marks and Spencer which had been lying unused in my closet since last one year. So I tried a dozen of tops with it before I picked this tee with fringes from Spring Break and tucked it in and thought it looked decent enough with the skirt.
I completed the look with a chic, colorful box clutch from Virtue Lady, multi-layered neckpiece and wedges from Forever 21.
Have a look at how I finally styled my voluminous skirt for the Fashion Week :
A full skirt has to be the center of attention in any outfit because of its volume. Pair it with a solid colored top or tee and complimenting accessories to highlight the bouncy style of the skirt.
If you love experimenting, you can pair a printed skirt with a minimal print on top or a graphic tee like mine that will give you a trendy look.
Pair it with a crop top, baring just a hint of skin, giving you a toned-down look.
Do you like wearing Full or voluminous skirts too? Let me know your views on this outfit in the Comments below.

Amazon India Fashion Week AW16 - Day 1 - Highlights
Wednesday 30 March 2016
Hey lovelies!
I know it's a bit late, but well I had to post my favorites and the highlights from the recently held Amazon India Fashion Week in the capital.
The 5-day long Fashion event had a new venue this time - Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Lodhi Road - with the main theme of India Modern.
The opening show of the Autumn Winter'2016 season of Amazon India Fashion Week was presented by the talented designer Varun Bahl who marked his return to ready-to-wear category after five years.
His collection was a tropical delight with easy-to-style, wearable pieces featuring embroidery in the forms of owls, jellyfish, horses and more. The feminine silhouettes and soft colors added helped bring out the intricate details of the outfits.
My favorite show of the day was by my favorite designers : Shantanu & Nikhil who again proved why they are the perfectionists with their delicate drapes and silhouttes.
The floor-sweeping gowns and skirts teamed up with structured jackets were the highlights of their show.
The designer duo Hemant and Nandita showcased a collection called “The Dark Enchantress” which focused on an earthy color palette that included colors like browns, deep reds and midnight blues.
The collection featured easy-to-style outerwear like embroidered jackets, trench coats, fur collars, and more.
Designer Kiran Uttam Ghosh showcased her ethnic collection which highlighted the use of silver, blending it with colors like red, blue, beige and more in the form of deilcate motifs, mukaish work and embroidery.
Designer Rina Dhaka's collection reflected Autumn-winter in true style with knitwear silhouettes that are perfect for the season. The collection highlighted features like off-shoulder styles, boat necks and ruffles which added to the woven details of the dresses.
The collection Synthesis by Not So Serious by Pallavi Mohan featured an amalgamation of various elements like laser cut leathers, intrcate hand details, fabric manipulation and more in fabrics like wool. velvet, organza and satin.
Gaurav Gupta showcased his unique collection based on the concept of Zero Waste ie. draping the entire width of fabric in the given garment.
The collection featured gowns, jackets and frockcoats in fabrics like neoprene, silks and sparkling jersey.
Which one of these was your favorite from the Day 1 of AIFW16?

Shopping Haul : From My Instagram Diaries | Recent Shopping Sprees
Thursday 17 March 2016
Hey lovelies!
I am back with the first post of March. While writing this post I realized that its the first time that I haven't posted anything in the first half of any month. But well, what can I say, I have been feeling low lately and wanted a brief break from blogging.
It was the first day of Amazon India Fashion Week today and I felt really nice to be getting back to my schedule, meeting my blogger buddies and checking out some amazing shows from my favorite designers. While talking to a few friends, I realized how they have been missing my Shopping Haul posts. I do share all my hauls on Instagram regularly, but yes, I have been a little lazy when it comes to including them on the blog.
But I have decided, that from now on, while I post my hauls on Instagram, I will also update the same on the blog (Pakka Promise), so that all my lovely readers stay updated with the same too.
To start with, I am sharing my recent shopping hauls which I have already shared on Instagram. (Next time, I will be adding individual images with more details.)
This haul dates back two weeks, while I did shop again last week which I will share in a separate post. The Charles & Keith heels were a steal on 40% off and the Accessorize bag on 70% off while rest of the things I bought from the fresh merchandise.
I love NYX matte cream lipcolors which have a long staying power and amazing formula that doesn't over-dry the lips. I recently bought these colors when they were back in stock at Sephora.
This haul dates back to last month when an End-of-season sale was going on at Chumbak and I managed to get all of the clothes at upto 50% off.
This haul again dates back to a couple of weeks when I visited DLF Promenade with a friend and couldn't help buying this trendy clutch from a brand called Virtue Lady, Matte lipcolor from MAC and my swanky new watch from Michael Kors.
I have done a couple of more hauls in the last week from Aldo, Body Shop, Marks & Spencer and Loreal but I will share them in the next post. Let me know if you would like to see more of my shopping hauls on the blog or just on Instagram.
