Hey lovelies!
It's been almost 7 years of blogging, but I have never done a What's In My Bag ever. So, recently when I did a poll on Instagram about what would everyone like to read next on the blog, they wanted to know about my everyday essentials, so I decided to do one.
While I am not working full time these days, the essential items that I keep in my bag haven't changed much. If you have noticed my previous outfit posts, you would have seen that I prefer to carry bigger bags or tote bags as I always keep a lot of things with me, especially if I know I am going to stay out for long hours.
So, I emptied my bag (which I carried to an event recently) and here's everything that is really and truly in my bag :
Sunglasses : Now, you might be wondering why I keep two pairs of sunglasses in my bag. Well, the printed sunnies are from Lefties - again a gift from my husband, and I keep them handy in my bag all the time. While the rose gold sunnies are from GUESS and were a gift from my brother, I had kept them in bag for the event and I wear them only occasionally.
Makeup Pouch : This glitter makeup pouch was actually a part of a holiday collection set that I bought from Lancome two years back and comes in handy to store my makeup properly.
Lipsticks : Being a lipstick addict, I always have two or more lipsticks in my bag. Especially on days when I have to go for a party or an event after work; as a different lipstick can instantly change your look even if you don't change your outfit.
MAC Mehr - This shade from MAC is so far the most versatile color I have seen. It not only goes well with any outfit I wear, but is also perfect for day and night.
MAC Night to Remember - I always have a red lipstick in my bag, and this one is a stunning red with a luminous finish and lasts for 5-6 hours easily.
NYX Soft Matte lip cream - This time in my bag I had the lip cream in Prague which is a bright pink that works well on Indian skin tones.
Compact Foundation : Revlon Photoready compact is something that comes in handy when you don't have a foundation or want a light, flawless base for your everyday makeup. Also, it can be used with a wet sponge for a higher coverage.
Makeup Palette : I usually carry this or a different makeup kit with me if I am having a long day out or have to attend an event directly after work or a meeting. This palette from NYX has literally everything you might need for a quick makeup - eye shadows, contouring shades and brow powders.
Mini Brush : This Elizabeth Arden blush brush was a part of a Set of 2 and comes in really handy to apply makeup on the go.
Body Mist : You can never go wrong with the ZARA Orange Blossom & Sandalwood which has a mild yet amazing fragrance and has a travel-friendly packaging.
Perfume : Again, I don't carry this perfume everyday but when I am going out for blog shoots or events. GUESS 1981 is one of my latest picks and has a soothing woody musky base with floral and fruity notes that are perfect for a dressy day.
So, yes, this is an extensive list of products in my bag and often my friends say that I always have something or other in my bag that they need when we are out together. But well, one's always got to be prepared, right?

So, I emptied my bag (which I carried to an event recently) and here's everything that is really and truly in my bag :
My Go-To Bag : Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 - I picked this bag last year as my first luxury purchase and it has been my BFF ever since. I mean what's not to love about this bag? It's super spacious, easy to carry and goes well with everything in my wardrobe.
Wallet : Trussardi Jeans - So, my husband picked this elegant wallet from Portugal recently and it easily fits into most of my small bags as well. It comes with a handy money pouch that can be carried separately as well; and has multiple slots to keep my cards handy.
Business Cards and Holder : So, I received this business card holder as a gift few years back and I designed my business card myself. I carry them every time in my bag, as when you are blogging full-time, you may end up meeting prospective brands who would want to work with you anywhere.
House Keys and Pen Drive : So, the bow shaped key chain from H&M doubles up as a key holder and bag charm and I think it's really cute. The heel-shaped pen drive was actually a gift from Steve Madden a few years ago and can also double up as a bag charm.
Sunglasses : Now, you might be wondering why I keep two pairs of sunglasses in my bag. Well, the printed sunnies are from Lefties - again a gift from my husband, and I keep them handy in my bag all the time. NYX Soft Matte lip cream - This time in my bag I had the lip cream in Prague which is a bright pink that works well on Indian skin tones.
Lip Balm : Now I don't suffer from chapped lips, but I still like to keep a lip balm as when a matte lipstick starts wearing out, a coat of lip balm can help you go for couple of more hours
Eye Liner : Not one of my favorite eye liners, but I guess I had this Nykaa eye liner in my bag that day as I couldn't find my regular MAC eye pencil. Nothing bad about this liner, but I just find its applicator uncomfortable to use.
Kajal : I picked the VLCC Enchanting eyes Kajal recently after being off-kajal for weeks due to an infection a previous Kajal I used caused. This not only suits my eyes without causing any dryness, but also is super black and lasts for hours long.
Mascara : So, apart from lipsticks I am a mascara fan and I have a lot of mascaras. This time I had in my bag an Oriflame super volume mascara and a MAC 3D Black lash mascara (travel size).

Mini Perfume : Part of a Victoria's Secret Tease set I bought from Singapore, this mini perfume fits perfectly in any small bag as well and has an enticing floral fragrance with a blend of black vanilla, frozen pear and blooming gardenia.

MAC Prep + Prime : It actually works like a balm or a base for a lipstick by instantly adding moisture and smoothing the lips.
MAC Blot Film : I also keep a pack of blotting papers in my bag as I have a combination skin, and this thin film helps remove traces of oil or shine without smudging the makeup.

What's In My Go-To Bag | Things That Take Me Through The Day
Friday, 25 May 2018
Hey everyone!
As I had given a glimpse of my current skincare routine on Instagram, a lot of you wanted me to share my complete regime. I have done few major changes in my skincare routine since my wedding as I had got a major acne breakout just two weeks before my wedding.
I was really disturbed and didn't want to undergo a skin treatment, as I was already taking antibiotics for my viral fever. Finally, my bestie who is always the one I look upto for skincare advise, asked me to make certain changes in my daily regime and try a few products that she swears by.
So, here I am listing the skincare products that I currently am using in my skincare routine :
So, here I am listing the skincare products that I currently am using in my skincare routine :
- Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Face Wash and Toner :
I visited the Clinique store and consulted their in-house expert for a solution to my acne condition which was honestly going worse two months back. They told me about two kind of products that I could try - one that will work on the acne marks and one that will work on controlling the acne condition. As, my acne was getting worse, I decided to first control the condition and started using the Cleansing foam and Clarifying lotion from their Anti-Blemish solutions that work on reducing excess oil and unclog the pores effectively.
I have been using both the products since two months now, and thankfully, my acne is in control now and even the earlier acne marks are healing. But, if you want to try these products, I would recommend that you consult the Clinique skin experts first as this product range has a strong formula, and even I was advised to reduce its usage once the acne condition improves (I am now using it only once a day and use a mild face wash from Himalaya before I go to sleep).
- Clinique Moisture Surge -
So, I have been using the Moisture Surge thirst relief moisturiser from Clinique since more than three months and it is the best light-weight and hydrating moisturiser that I have used in a long time. Not only its oil-free formula suits my combination skin, but also works as a great base for my makeup routine.
- Nivea Aloe Hydration body lotion -
I wanted a lightweight and hydrating body lotion that I found effectively in the Nivea range. Their Aloe Hydration body lotion keeps skin moisturised for long hours (they claim 48hours, but its need a re-application after a day). It has a mild and soothing fragrance, and is really one of the best budget body lotions I have tried so far.
- The Face Shop White Seed serum -
This brightening serum from The Face Shop is part of my night skincare routine, and I apply it post cleansing my face every night. It has a very light formula which absorbs into the skin really quick and I have noticed my skin becoming smooth and bright over the time.
I have been using this mask only since a couple of weeks, as I had tried its sample sometime back and it seemed really promising, so I ended up picking the full size pack. I have heard and read rave reviews about this pore clay mask, and hoping it really works in cleansing pores and even out the skin texture.
- The Face Shop sheet masks -
Coming to the last but my favourite product in my current skincare routine is the range of face mask sheets from The Face Shop. I have mostly tried their The Solution masks and Aloe masks which instantly brighten and soothe the skin.
Have you tried any of these products? Let me know your views on these products or what skincare routine you are following this summer in comments below.

10 Must-Have Beauty Products in your Bridal Vanity Kit - Beginner's Guide | #TSDBridalDiary
Thursday, 26 April 2018
Hey lovelies!
So I am back with another post from my bridal diary, and this time I am sharing my tips on one thing that every bride-to-be worries about (especially if she is new to makeup) - what to buy for her vanity kit?
Well, with the honeymoon and so many family dinners and outings planned after wedding, one can't rush to a parlour every time to get ready. Therefore, its important that you have all the necessary beauty products handy so that you can get ready at home.
Well, with the honeymoon and so many family dinners and outings planned after wedding, one can't rush to a parlour every time to get ready. Therefore, its important that you have all the necessary beauty products handy so that you can get ready at home.
And no, you don't have to break the bank to make a beauty kit that would last you for good 6-12 months (some even more, based on your usage) as am sharing the products that would fit every budget and are easily available in the market as well as online.
I personally prefer having two sets of beauty products - one for daily usage (mostly drug store brands) and one for occasion makeup (high-endbrands) - that helps me get the desired look as well as doesn't get heavy on the pocket.
So here's my list of 10 beauty products that you must have in your bridal vanity kit :
So here's my list of 10 beauty products that you must have in your bridal vanity kit :
Face :
- Concealer - A concealer that suits your skin tone and skin type the best can work as your makeup BFF in many ways. Not only it comes in handy to hide all imperfections or a pimple that strikes just on an important day, but can also cover dark spots and dark circles.
I rely on the Bobbi Brown concealer kit which is a heavy-duty concealer that you can trust for all the important occasions; while you can keep the Colorbar full cover makeup stick handy if you don't want to carry concealers and primers with you.
- Foundation - A good foundation is one that blends well, gives the most natural finish and provides optimum coverage. If you have already found the foundation that works best on your skin, then you are good to go. Else, you can try the Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup which might be a little heavy on the pocket, but is the best foundation I have ever tried
If you want a more reasonable option, you can try Oriflame's Giordani Gold Longwear Mineral foundation which is really light weight and provides decent coverage and is a part of my daily makeup routine.
- Blush - My favourite beauty product for face ever has to be a rosy blush, which not only instantly brightens the face but also brings life back to the face. Depending on your skin tone, choose a blush which gives you an instant flush of color and gives a natural glow.
My favourite blush is the MAC Peachykeen which is a pretty shimmery blush that adds a natural colour (a beautiful blend of peach and pink) to the cheeks and lasts all day. For a more reasonable option, you can pick Oriflame Giordani Gold Bronzing Pearls in shade Natural Radiance, which add a beautiful colour and radiance to the cheeks, and one pack will last you for more than an year's usage.
- Setting Powder/Compact - A lot of us don't think a setting powder is essential, but, once you have done your face makeup - a setting powder can help lock the concealer and foundation giving a smooth finish as it helps absorb excess oil and shine.
MAC Setting Powder and FACES mineral loose powder are my favourites as they are light and give a silky smooth finish to the face.
Lips :
- Lipstick - Let's come to my favourite beauty product that's a lipstick, if you follow me on Instagram, you all would know about my lipstick-fetish (and the hundreds of lipsticks that I have). However, you really don't need a lot many lipsticks if you are not a hoarder like me.
Invest in 3 good lipsticks in shades of red, nude and pink that match your skin tone, that will go well with most of your outfits. I will really recommend MAC Ruby Woo, MAC Mehr and NYX Soft Matte lip cream in Prague shade.
- Lip Balm - Summer heat can take a toll on the lips, especially if you wear lipstick every day. Therefore, its a must that you not only keep a go-to lip balm in your vanity kit but also in your handbag and apply it whenever you feel your lips are drying or are chapped.
I swear by the Body Shop shea lip butter which keeps lips hydrated and has a very mild nutty scent. Maybelline Baby Lips balm is also a good alternative.
Eyes :
- Eye Shadow Palette - I have come to realise that for a dressy look, your face is incomplete without eye makeup - even if you only go for a single shade on your eyelids. I would suggest picking a palette which has a mix of shimmery and matte eye shadows.
My favourites are the Makeup Revolution Girl Panic eye-shadow palette and Urban Decay Naked3 palette.
- Mascara - To accentuate your eyes for a dramatic effect, a mascara is an absolute necessity in your beauty kit. Whether you want length or volume, a mascara can totally up your beauty game.
I love the Maybelline Hyper Curl mascara for that volumising effect and Benefit They're Real mascara for a beautiful lengthening effect.
- Eye-liner/Kajal - I think we all know the need of a Kajal as we have been applying it ever since our birth (well technically our mothers used to apply it on us to prevent us from evil eye) - but I have hardly come across anyone who doesn't like a good ol' Kajal.
You can pick a Kajal which works both as an eye-liner and kohl, just like the MAC Technakohl liner and L'Oreal Paris Kajal magique.
Mini Brush Kit - Last but not the least, you need a mini brush kit - especially if you are buying products that don't come with a brush like your blush and eye shadow palette.
I recently picked this really cute rose gold brush kit from MAC Snow Ball limited edition collection which has three useful brushes in travel sizes. You can also pick a kit from Vega brushes that will fit the bill.
Other Essentials that you should definitely keep handy apart from the beauty products above are :

5 Beauty Looks to Steal from Sonam Kapoor this Summer | Summer Beauty Trends
Tuesday, 24 April 2018
Hey lovelies!
Sonam Kapoor has been giving us Outfit goals ever since she stepped into the industry, but these days even her makeup game is totally on point. So, we have picked five of our favourite beauty looks on her that are totally worth stealing this summer -
1. Ice Blue Eyes - This summer is all about going gaga over the ice blue eye-shadow. And not only Sonam Kapoor, event the international runways have spotted this trend which is a fresh way to make your eyes pop and get a summer-fresh look.
If a blue eye-shadow is too much for you, you can also pick a blue liquid eyeliner from MAC or Maybelline and flaunt it with nude lips and rosy cheeks.
2. Glazed Lips - Finally a trend that we had been waiting for - tuck away your mattes for the glossy, stained lips that gives a glamorous look. Sonam Kapoor shows us how to do this trend right by flaunting her glazed red lips with subtle eye makeup and just a hint of blush.
Some products you can try to achieve this look are M.A.C Grand Illusion Glossy Liquid Lip Colour and NYX Professional Makeup Lip Lustre Glossy Tint.
3. Rose Gold Cheeks - Nothing looks than cheeks with a subtle rosy gold flush for a summer wedding. We are in completely in awe with Sonam's glowing look as a bride on the cover of Brides Today.
You can achieve the look with NARS Super Orgasm blush or Urban Decay Naked Illuminating powder in shade Aura for a mega-radiant summer glow.
4. Top Bun - If you think top-buns are so last season, well have a look at Sonam's recent retro look flaunting a sleek hairdo with a top bun that is complimenting her quirky jumpsuit from her label Rheson.
5. Curled Lashes - Fresh glowing skin with dewy makeup and curled eye lashes with dramatic effect. If you are a fan of falsies - you can take your pick from various multi-dimensional lashes available in the market, or go for a super volumising mascara like L'Oreal Paris False Lash Superstar Mascara or NYX Doll Eye mascara.

Get the Festive Glow with Biotique | Tips for Glowing Skin with Natural Skincare
Saturday, 14 October 2017
Hey lovelies!
The festive season is upon us and while Diwali is a week away, you can still work your way to a glowing skin for the main occasion by following a natural skincare regime.
Pollution, work and junk food take toll on our skin, but if a regular skincare routine is followed using natural products - that one can get fresh and bright skin easily.
Well, I am talking about the beautiful range of pure Ayurvedic products from Biotique - my favorite brand when it comes to natural skincare. Biotique is one of the foremost brands in the Ayurveda segment which I have trusted since more than a decade.
The natural skincare products from Biotique not only add a healthier touch to the skin but also make it brighter and youthful - thanks to their formula which is organically pure and preservative free.
As I gear up for the party season, I have been a following a regular skincare regime which not only includes Cleansing and Moisturising but also Scrubbing and Facials every week.
No matter how busy you are, cleansing and moisturising your face twice a day is really essential to maintain its health and glow. Bio Papaya scrub wash is an amazing product that can be used this season as it helps dissolve makeup and impurities, while softening and brightening the skin.
Follow it up with moisturising the skin with Bio Morning Nectar lotion which is a nourishing lotion that is blended with pure honey, wheatgerm and seaweed. The goodness of these essential ingredients makes the skin fresh and replenishes the lost moisture. It has a travel-friendly packaging which I always keep handy in my bag to moisturise my skin multiple times a day.
With stressful work and daily life, I feel that just cleansing and moisturising is not enough for our skin. That's why I also use Bio Dandelion serum after moisturising to reduce the signs of ageing. This serum is packed with Vitamin E and minerals that helps ease away wrinkles and reduce dark spots as well.
Apart from these tips, no matter how busy you are, take out 30 minutes every day to work out in the gym or to go for a walk - as exercise helps increase blood flow and helps getting rid of toxins from the body. Also, make sure you drink atleast 10-12 glasses of water every day and eat a lot of fruits and green vegetables to maintain a beautiful glow on your face.

Scrubbing your face atleast twice a week really helps in removing dead skin cells and to unclog pores. Bio Papaya scrub is blended with pure papaya fruit which not only helps remove dead skin cells but also helps remove tan, making way for a naturally bright and younger looking skin.
Also, using a face pack atleast once a week can leave the skin clean and glowing. Bio Fruit face pack by Biotique is the perfect pick as it contains the juices of pineapple, tomato, lemon and papaya fruit that add radiance to the skin while removing signs of fatigue, pigmentation and impurities.

I also love using Biotique as their products are not tested on animals, are dermatologically tested and are known for therapeutic properties.
Biotique skincare products are available at various retail outlets and are also available online at - www.biotique.com .
Hope you loved these tips and wishing you all a very Happy Diwali!

My Experience with Online Shopping at KylieCosmetics.com | Kylie Cosmetics Haul
Monday, 11 September 2017
Hey lovelies!
Hope you all had a lovely weekend. I certainly had a busy but amazing weekend as I got to attend the Cosmo Fashion Weekend with Vogue Eyewear, and with my mom in town, I spent time with her by taking her out to show my new place in Gurgaon and around.
Well, coming back to this post, last month I had placed another order from Kylie Cosmetics when they had a discount offer running, and I ended up splurging like crazy. Also, this wasn't my first order with them as I had initially placed order a few months back for 3 lip kits.
I finally decided to write a review as I now had a great comparison of the custom fees and other details over my two orders, and thought this post would be of help to many readers who want to shop from Kylie Cosmetics or want to know more about online shopping at Kylie.
KylieCosmetics.com as you all know is run/owned by the famous Kylie Jenner, and the products and are exclusively sold through this website. They are not available in physical stores in India yet, but the website ships worldwide.
Here are a few highlights of the product line by Kylie Cosmetics :
My favorite from the lot has to be this kit as it includes three beautiful matte shades and a lip gloss. While I am not a gloss fan, it works really well when applied over the matte lipsticks.
My favorite Kylie product is definitely the matte lip kit - the colors stay put for 6-7 hours and give amazing color in one application. However, if you have dry lips, you might need to apply some vaseline beforehand, as these lipsticks tend to make the lips really dry after 4 hours which would make you rush to apply your vaseline again.
While the product range is not huge, Kylie Cosmetics does offer a versatile range of shades in liquid lipsticks - especially bold, vampy colors that I am currently a fan of. Have a look at the swatches of three of such lip colors below :
This time, I was tempted to try one of the Kylighters so I also ordered the shade Chocolate Cherry which is a light, coppery bronze highlighter which I think would suit would the Indian skin tones the best.
For now, I am done with shopping from Kylie Cosmetics, and would look forward to buy some products by Christmas or New Year now.
Do let me know if you have any specific queries that I forgot to cover in this post, and I would surely reply :)
**UPDATE (Sep'18) : As Kylie Cosmetics was running another Bogo offer this month, I placed another order consisting of two lip kits and one lip trio which costed me USD 65. But when even after 45 days of placing the order I didn't receive my order, I asked for a replacement order which was sent after a few requests.
Now, I asked for the replacement order to be dispatched to my Delhi address to make sure I get it promptly this time, and I thankfully did within 10 days without any custom fees charged.
Here comes the best part, after another week, I received the original package at my Mumbai address with an additional custom fees of Rs 3000 - which is almost the amount I paid for the order.
I was shocked and ofcourse refused the package as I had already received the replacement package. But then I realised that I wasn't charged any fees on the replacement package as the order value marked on the top of the parcel was $0 whereas on the original package the order value was marked $65. So I guess I just got lucky, but I will advise you to keep your order below $40-50 if you want to avoid paying any custom fees.

Here are a few highlights of the product line by Kylie Cosmetics :
- Kylie Jenner products are not tested on animals.
- Kylie Jenner launched Kylie Cosmetics in 2016 after the global launch of her wildly successful liquid lipstick + lip liner duo.
- The brand now also offers eye kits, blushes, highlighters, glosses, and limited edition kits that include brushes, palettes and makeup bags.
- All shades of The Kylie Lip Kits are vegan.
- International shipping is free on all orders above $60.
My online shopping experience with Kylie Cosmetics :
I had placed my first order with the website back in May which included 4 lip kits (on offer) and a free lip gloss, and the total was $72.95 (including $14.95 shipping). My order had arrived in 15 days from the date of order and I was not charged any custom fees.
However, the same wasn't the case with my latest order, as I had to pay a hefty custom fee of Rs 2,700. My order included 3 individual lip kits, 1 set of liquid lipsticks, 1 set of brushes and 1 highlighter.
The order total was $97 with free shipping, but I received this order in 1 month of it being placed - thanks to Indian customs. Well, I was taken for surprise when I received the customs slip because my earlier order had come with no custom fee.
However, I realised this could be because my order this time came in a huge box with 2 small boxes having the products inside it, and maybe that's why it caught the customs' eye. Had the packing company fit the products in just one box, it would not have entertained additional fee.
Anyway, here are more pictures of the products, swatches and my review :

All the lip kits also come with a matching lip liner which can be applied as a base to bring out the best of the liquid lipstick.

It is an every day shade which can be worn from work to party with ease. However, texture wise, it is still a little difficult to work with, but I like that it is a wearable, versatile highlighter.
Well, overall, I am satisfied with my online shopping experience with Kylie Cosmetics, considering I received a decent discount and the lip kits are worth the price (it's the same price as the MAC liquid lipstick, but you also get a lip liner in this kit).

However, the custom fee was definitely a disappointment, and I would recommend, if you are placing an order, try to keep it for maximum 4 products so that your order doesn't catch the custom officials eye, which would lead to you having to pay almost 30% of your order value as customs fee.
Love,
Nitika
