Review : The Perfect Selfie Phone for those on a Budget - VIVO V5S | Moonlight Camera Smartphone
Monday, 22 May 2017
Hey lovelies!
Hope you all had a nice weekend! I am back with another smartphone review, for another phone that's making noise in the Selfie-crazy youth.
I am talking about the recently launched VIVO V5S selfie smartphone - which has been priced at a budget that will suit all the tech freaks as well as the selfie-phone diggers.
Vivo is one of the few smartphone brands that keeps bringing updates to its popular smartphone models every few months, and this time they have come up with an update to the V5 model with VIVO V5S.

The VIVO V5S has a 13MP rear camera which also performs decently and helps take sharp pictures.
The only con being that you have to hold the phone really firmly, else the picture goes for a toss.
Overall Views : Priced at Rs 18,990, VIVO V5S is one of the best smartphones in the market currently under Rs 20,000 bracket with an amazing selfie camera, great battery life and sleeks design.
If you are on a budget and selfies/taking pictures is your main criteria while buying a mobile - VIVO V5S is definitely a better buy with value-for-money, as compared to other brands in the same league.

Vivo is one of the few smartphone brands that keeps bringing updates to its popular smartphone models every few months, and this time they have come up with an update to the V5 model with VIVO V5S.

We got our hands on the brand new V5S few weeks back and I've been using the smartphone - specifically for pictures since then. Based on my experience, here's what I think are the best features of the VIVO V5S:
- Impeccable Looks, Sleek Design : The smartphone has a sleek and smart metal unibody design weighing only 154 grams, featuring a 7.6mm slim chassis with a 5.5-inch display. The standout feature is the fingerprint scanner (like those in iPhones) that works as the home button as well and functions accurately. One of the sweet deals is that its Gorilla Glass 3 display comes pre-applied with a tempered glass.
- Power-packed Performance : V5S has a 4GB of RAM and an internal storage of 64GB (the previous model had only 34GB) that can be extended with the external storage slot as well. This makes the phone really fast while switching in-between apps, playing games or watching a full HD video.
The V5S has a 3000-mAh battery which lasts entire day with moderate usage. Infact, a full charge done once is good enough to make the battery last for 18-20 hours with regular usage like Whatsapp, listening to music, calls etc.
- Moonlight Camera for those great Selfies : Now, coming to my favorite feature of the smartphone - also the selling point of this phone is the 20MP front moonlight camera which is one of the best selfie cameras in the smartphones of this range.
Here, I took a few pictures with its impressive front camera in different light conditions - and the pictures came out really sharp and bright - even in low light conditions.

Review : Oppo R7 Plus - Exquisite Metallic Smartphone | Price and Features
Tuesday, 15 December 2015
Hey lovelies!
Remember the time when I reviewed the uber chic Oppo N3 smartphone? Well, we all loved its rotating camera feature and trendy body, and Oppo has decided to take things ahead with its latest offering - Oppo R7 Plus.
Oppo R7 Plus is more of a phablet with a premium and unique large-screen Metal Unibody that makes it uber stylish and trendy. That's not all, it is loaded with other amazing features as well which I am going to talk about in this post.
In this post, I will be reviewing the phone on three major factors : Features, Camera and Battery Life.
Features :
Oppo R7 Plus has a 6 inch 1080p Super AMOLED screen that makes it quite a huge smartphone, but a blessing for those who love their smartphones - bold and big.
It has a 2.5D Arc Edge Screen with a concept of 'Free Curves' that gives it redefined curves and adds beauty to its design.
Featuring a large memory with 3GB RAM and a quad-core Snapdragon 615 processor, it allows you to store numerous apps and use them smoothly. One of the interesting features is its Fingerprint sensor which is in the form of a square sensor at the back, that can be pressed gently to activate the phone and unlock it.
Oppo R7 Plus allows you to use Dual sim or use one sim with an external Micro SD card. It already has a 32GB in-built memory which is more than enough for smartphone users like me who only like to store Songs, Pictures and selective apps.
Camera :
Oppo R7 Plus is loaded with a 13MP camera with Laser Autofocus and Sony IMX278 sensor, f/2.2 lens, and dual LED flash.
Its Ultra HD imaging mode helps take very crisp and sharp pictures, but I do think that the picture quality isn't quite very impressive even with the many features.
Here are a few unedited shots taken from the main camera while out for festive shopping :
The camera does help capture minute and major details of an object in depth, but I think it doesn't get the lighting of the photograph very accurately.
The 8MP front camera faired better as it helped take bright, beautiful shots. And its feature Beautify 3.0 helps customize the photograph with pre-set effects that instantly
beautify any pi ture.
Battery Life :
Coming to the battery life, the R7 Plus has an ultra-large battery capacity and features Flash Charging that enables you to charge the smartphone faster and just 5 minutes of charging supports 2 hours of talk time.
Perfect for users like me who travel a lot and don't necessarily get a lot of time to fully charge the phone between continuous use of the phone to take pictures, browse internet or watching videos.
Especially in this wedding season, when you are out and about shopping or attending festivals, you really don't want to struggle with low battery while taking pictures or videos, that's where its Battery life proves that it can last long while you capture all your favorite memories.
Overall Views :
At a price tag of Rs 29,999 for its 32 GB model, Oppo R7 Plus is definitely an impressive smartphone/phablet with a stylish metallic body and classy looks. But it is a smartphone that might only attract people who love bigger phones, as it is slightly difficult to use with just one hand.
Also, if you are a person who can't live without listening to FM all day long, you may want to re-consider as it lacks NFC or FM radio.
But if its all about Looks, high quality camera, amazing battery life and higher Internal memory, Oppo R7 Plus might just be the perfect pick for you.

Review : LG Nexus 5X - Light-weight, All Rounder Smartphone | Price and Highlights | #ChampInCity
Tuesday, 10 November 2015
Hey lovelies!
Wishing you all a very Happy and prosperous Diwali! I know its just a day away, but I don't know if I would be writing a post that day as I am visiting my hometown - so wishing you all in advance.
Well, if you actively follow me on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, you must've noticed me talking about #ChampInCity and carrying a new phone around with me since last 10 days.
I am talking about the new smartphone in the market - LG NEXUS 5X which is a brand new offering from LG having promising features and technology.
I would be writing in detail about its many features, highlights and how it faired across the last 10 days as I used it for almost 12-14 hours every day.
Being promoted as the All-around champ by Google, Nexus 5X is rich in some key features like a powerful camera, Nexus Imprint, USB Type-C charger, Android Marshmallow and more.
As I have used the phone for my blogging and photography purpose majorly, I will be covering my experience on three main aspects important for anyone considering to buy a new smartphone : Battery Life, Camera and Features.
Features :
One of the remarkable features of Nexus 5X is undoubtedly its weight. This striking smartphone weighs only 136g, making it one of the lightest handsets of its category without compromising on the looks or features.
It has a compact design which fits easily into your hand and I was able to use it effectively with just one hand. (If you are a sucker for normal-sized phones which don't cover your entire face - you'll be happy to lay your hands on this beauty.)
The 5.2-inch screen makes it easier to browse Apps and even browse internet with a great speed.
It runs on an Android Marshmallow operating system. Another interesting feature is the Google Nexus Imprint sensor which helps unlock the phone and your apps quickly, with just one tap of the finger. Well, you can now let go of having to remember those tricky passcodes now.
So, another standout feature of this smartphone is the - USB-C port - which is reversible - that means you can use either side for the charging plug and phone charging port. It also makes charging the device almost two times fast as the other phones I have used. Even with charging for 10-15minutes, your battery would be good enough to last for a few hours (Perfect! Isn't it?).
Well the iPhone users would be used to this, but people who are used to having an external memory card might find this as a con that Nexus 5X comes with an internal storage of either 16GB and 32GB.
Camera :
So, if you haven't yet seen the dozen of pictures I clicked with my LG Nexus 5X, I am just going to share with you how it helps me take amazing photographs which are of the same quality as of a digi-cam.
It has a 12.3 MP main camera with dual-LED (dual tone) flash and a front camera of 5MP.
Being a blogger and social media professional, I can't ever miss an opportunity to capture amazing shots - whether I am at work, on-the-go or at some important event.
Whether you are a food fanatic, fashion lover or nature-enthusiast, Nexus 5X proves that it can take any shot effortlessly and beautifully.
Have a glimpse of few of the many pictures I clicked using Nexus 5X :
Fashion Photography : I basically survived at the recently organized Asian Designer Week which I was covering officially with my Nexus 5X. At a fashion week, where the models walk so fast that you have less than few seconds to get a perfect click - it helped me get precise and sharp images.
One of the many amazing features is its laser-assisted autofocus which helps you click sharp, detailed pictures with just one click. It is actually helpful when you want brighter shots during dim-lights.
Product/Food Photography : If just like me, you can't live without clicking pictures of every food item you eat and post it on Instagram, Nexus 5X will prove to be a blessing for you.
Don't trust me? Look at the amazing, detailed pictures above!
Front Camera : Ohh thank god for its 5MP front camera, I managed to get great shots even in the evening when the sunset was about to happen. All you selfie-addicts, Nexus 5X helps you click Selfies without any pain or discomfort (People who have a habit to click 100s of Selfies like me will understand this).
Night Photography : I clicked the above picture at around 8.30pm and Nexus 5X still managed to give me great details and a lovely shot.
Here's also a Video I recorded using my Nexus 5X during Asian Designer Week, which is really sharp and clear.
Well I can go on and on gushing about its amazing camera, but let's go ahead to its Battery Life.
Battery Life:
So coming finally to the Battery life, as I said, I survived the fashion week using Nexus 5X for all my photography and social media updates, and the battery (which I charged just once in the morning) lasted me for a good 10 hours (no kidding, seriously!).
I remember having to carry my charger every time I go for an event, but Nexus 5X's battery left me really impressed.
Verdict :
Priced at Rs. 31,900 for 16GB or Rs. 35,900 for 32GB, LG Nexus 5X is an all-rounder, power-packed smartphone with an amazing Camera and some noteworthy features which make it one of the best smartphones launched this year. If you are looking for a smart buy that not only gives value-for-money but also has a great design, NEXUS 5X is the smartphone for you.
I have been using this smartphone for last 10 days, and frankly I haven't had faced any issues except from getting used to its unique USB Type-C port.
