10 Curvy Fashion Labels You Need to Try and You Will Love | Curvy Style Guide
Saturday, 5 May 2018
Hey everyone!
Being curvy and loving fashion was a bad thing in India till a few years ago. Ask me why? Well, because hardly any brands understood the fashion needs of curvy and plus size women. While I used to find my size with many brands, a lot of my friends had difficulty finding trendy clothes as most curvy fashion brands made clothes that were anti-fit and boring.
Thankfully, when a lot of international brands started introducing plus size lines along with their main lines; Indian brands also realised that this market has a lot of potential as women in India also started loving their curves and wanted to flaunt them in the best away.
I also realised this when I had introduced the section 'Curvy Style Guide' on my blog, and many of my followers came up to me and told me how much they appreciate my posts and that it helped them feel confident about flaunting latest trends no matter what size they are.
Last week, I received a few queries regarding the best available brands for curvy women, so I have made a list of 10 brands including a few of my favourites that are doing plus size fashion right :
- ASOS : One brand that I truly admire and love shopping from regularly is ASOS. They have a Curve line and includes many styles as an extension to their regular line. If you are looking for trendy dresses, tops or even swimwear - you can trust to find the best designs at ASOS.
The international shipping could be one con, but it's nothing if you want the best fashion for curvy sizes. You can read my earlier online shopping experience with ASOS here.
- Half Full Curve :
I came across this brand while reading an article online and loved their classy dresses that you can pick for special occasions. Though the number of styles available currently on their website are limited, but have few beautiful draped dresses for those cocktail parties.
- Marks & Spencer :
The high street fashion house has off late started including styles till size UK 24 in the plus size line and is one of the best options if you wish to buy office wear or smart casuals.
- StalkBuyLove :
If you love fast fashion, you would admire the chic styles and reasonable prices of StalkBuyLove which offers plus size apparel and introduces new designs regularly.
- Amydus :
I haven't tried this brand myself, as they don't offer my size. But they include plus sizes, starting from Size 0 (here it is UK Size 16) and goes up to size 5 (UK 26) and includes western wear as well as ethnic wear like kurtas and palazzos in their collection.
- Afamado :
Unlike other plus size brands which only offer bigger sizes, Afamado offers all styles in sizes varying from XS to 6X, therefore making sure that any woman who is looking for trendy clothes online can pick a style no matter what their size is.
- Lastinch :
If you are looking for wardrobe basics likes casual tees, tops, maxi dresses and more, you can try Lastinch which offers comfortable and reasonable clothing for women with curves.
- MANGO :
I didn't know about the plus size line Violeta by MANGO until I checked out their website recently. While I didn't see a lot of the plus size clothes in their stores, the website offers a wide range of styles in tops, dresses, bottom wear, swimwear and more in sizes upto 54, that you can get delivered anywhere in India.
- Faballey :
Another fast fashion label, Faballey has a lot of its regular styles available in plus sizes (just like the dress I am wearing above from their regular line) - therefore being more size-inclusive and offering latest high-street trends at reasonable prices.
- Calae :
Again, I haven't tried this brand personally as they don't keep my size, but I loved the styles that they have. While other brands focus on just a couple of styles with mostly neutral colours, Calae had off-shoulder, one-shoulder styles in variety of colours that are perfect for every occasion.

( PS : A lot of plus size brands start from UK Size 16 or 2XL (like Asos Curve, Amydus etc), while others start at UK Size 12 or L .)

Hey everyone!
I know I haven't done a Shopping haul post since a long time, and those who follow me on Instagram (@theshopaholicdiaries) and Snapchat (@nitika_bh) know that I still shop a lott.
So, after a few requests from readers to see my latest shopping hauls, I clicked pictures of shopping sprees that I have done in the last month.
While earlier I used to shop a lot online, I have taken to shopping in the malls again as many of my favorite brands like ZARA and H&M are not available online.
My good old favorite website Myntra.com does help me get my fashion dose of Vero Moda, MANGO and more, but ZARA is one brand that always drives me to the mall every weekend.
So, without more blabbering, here I am sharing the first part of my summer shopping spree :
My most recent pick was this simple striped shirt from H&M which is really soft and comfortable. It's perfect for the days when I don't feel like dressing up and want to just wear a comfy top with my favorite jeans.
I have been loving off-shoulder or I should say cold-shoulder tops this season and have bought many from brands like H&M, Forever 21 and KAZO; but this H&M cold shoulder top is my favorite as it has such boho vibe and cute puffed sleeves.
So, I picked this lovely print from Vero Moda both in a top and a dress, as the fabric is really classy and figure-flattering. While one is a shift dress and comes with a fabric felt, the top is short and has a similar silhouette.
Trust UCB to make the best t-shirts out there. I have around 10 tees in my wardrobe and they all happen to be from UCB as their prints are quite trendy and the sizes very flattering. Therefore, when I spotted this #print tee at Myntra, being the social media buff that I am, I knew I had to have it in my wardrobe.
So, the TRF section of ZARA has these printed T-shirts which are really affordable (only Rs 690 each) and come in various colors and cute prints. And I happen to buy all the available prints whenever I visit ZARA as they are perfect for casual wear.
I also purchased this off-shoulder checkered crop top from ZARA which looks perfect with palazzos and pencil skirts.

I went shopping at KAZO recently and picked a lot of tops. This season they have a really pretty collection of tops and dresses in vibrant colors and playful prints that are affordable yet trendy.
I picked a mustard colored long top with long slit at the back and a candy pink cold-shoulder top in a sheer fabric.
Well, I do have a lot more pictures to share from my recent shopping hauls, which I will do in the next post. Do let me know your favorites from this haul in the Comments below!

Dubai Diaries - My Dubai Shopping Haul - Part 2 | TSD Travels
Wednesday, 23 September 2015
Hey lovelies!
So here's the 2nd part of my Dubai Shopping Haul. As I didn't get much time to visit the local markets, I did 90% of my shopping from the famous Dubai Mall, and trust me - I still think I would need another trip to shop to my heart's content from this amazing mall.
Without blabbering much, here are the pictures of rest of my purchases :
I remember picking a Fuschia lipstick from a Flormar kiosk in Select CITYWALK 2 year back, but I never saw the brand again in India. So, when I came across their huge store in Dubai Mall, I couldn't help picking not 1, but 3 lipsticks for my mother and friend as I really love the texture of their lipsticks. These were priced at around 30 Dirham each.
Okay I know you all must be thinking, why I even visited ZARA when it is available here in Delhi? But I was really curious to see what collection they have in Delhi, and come on, no one can miss shopping from ZARA, no matter which part of the world they are in.
So, I ended up picking these 2 crop tops for 25 Dirhams each and I really loved the collection in the Dubai Mall store as the designs were far far better from the ones available in stores here.
You all must be aware that H&M is having its Grand opening in Delhi on 2nd October, but still I couldn't resist visiting the H&M store there. But as it was my last stop in the Dubai Mall, I ended up picking just one top which has a really sexy fit and was actually a steal as I picked it for around 20 Dirham only.
I bought this chic animal print clutch purse from a brand known as SUITE BLANCO for 40 Dirham only. I had never heard of this brand, but they had pretty floral dresses and trendy bags which were priced quite reasonably.
This dress is one of the most pretty maxi dresses I have. The color, the pleats and the frills at the neckline are simply beautiful, and it is from a brand Pull & Bear which is from the Inditex group that also has Zara. It was priced at 100 Dirham after discount,
Ohh and finally, the big Reveal - my first ever PRADA purchase - their iconic Baroque sunglasses.
Featuring a sophisticated design in a round shape with the lavish baroque accents, I purchased these trendy glasses for around 1000 Dirham.
I am so in love with these sunglasses and just can't wait to style them up in my upcoming shoots.
So what's your favorite pick from my Dubai Shopping haul? Let me know in the Comments below!

Well, I didn't buy this dress from Dubai but actually from the MANGO store at Delhi Duty Free.
It is a suit style dress with a wrap-around style and comes along with a belt. It has a very formal yet sexy vibes, and I will be styling it on the blog soon. (Purchased it for Rs 2290).

Today, I will be covering my 5 Favorite Apparel brands present at Select CITYWALK where I shop often :
- ZARA - My shopping trips are never complete without visiting the ZARA show room in Select CITYWALK which I am sure is every fashion lover's favorite apparel brand. One of the largest international fashion brands, ZARA offers an extensive range of clothes, shoes and apparel and has become a renowned name with almost no advertising.
Hey lovely readers!
First of all wishing you all a veryyy Happy Diwali ( for all my international readers - Diwali is famously called the Festival of Lights, celebrated all over India with much enthusiasm and joy ). I hope you all are celebrating it with your friends and family, like I am at my home.
Also, I missed to post but it was my birthday yesterday, ie. 1st November - I had a casual family dinner and ofcourse - loads of shopping, which I will share in a post soon.
Coming back to the post, This topic has always affected me, dressing up for your body shape.
We’re all unique, in shape size and fashion
taste, but in a world of ever-changing trends, knowing what to wear to make the
most of what womanhood gave you can make all the difference.
Just like make-up and good hair products, fashion is a tool at your disposal to
make you feel fabulous, therefore, knowing what suits you and what doesn’t, is
key to your fashion confidence. There seems to be four main recognised shapes, and
while I know not every woman can be easily pigeonholed into one, here are my
top tips on how to dress if you’re an hourglass, apple, pear or slim.

Dressing for Your Shape: Look fabulous whatever your size!
Sunday, 3 November 2013
Hey lovely readers!
Hope you all are doing well. I reached home early today from office and experienced heavy rains here in Delhi. The weather is certainly playing hide and seek with us North Indians, as rain comes for a day or two and then its totally sunny and hot for a week, which gets really irritating.
Coming back to today's outfit post, this outfit I had wore a few days back when I attended Tarun Tahiliani's Couture Exposition in DLF Emporio, Delhi.
Pallazzo pants have been in trend since last few months, and even I had purchased two pairs which never got to debut on the blog. But I finally wore my pallazzo pants to the event, paired with a lime top and sleek wedges.
The brown lace pallazzos I had bought from Fifth Avenue store in DLF Place, Saket; which houses some amazing apparel at affordable prices. I accessorized my outfit with the Mango sequin bag, Romwe collar necklace and a beautiful ring gifted to me by fellow blogger and friend Surabhi.
