I am back with the Day 2 and Grand Finale highlights of the first edition of Asian Designer Week 2015 powered by FTV .

Day 2 of ADW 2015 saw an interesting mix of Indian, International and NextGen designers who set the stage on fire with their excellent designs.

The day started with a power-packed show of 7 NextGen designers and was closed by leading Indian designer Charu Parashar with the stunning Bollywood actress Bhumi Padnekar walking as a showstopper for her collection.

NextGen Designers

A Pearl Academy Jaipur graduate, designer Ankur Tyagi is highly motivated and passionate about art and its innovating process. He showcased a quirky collection rich in creative elements like drawstrings and yarns entwined and knitted to create forms.

Shipra Singh, a NIFT Bangalore graduate, showcased a beautiful collection that focused on simple clean silhouettes and flowy drapes with intricate prints and surface details. The simplicity and elegance in her designs made the collection wearable and chic.

A NIFT Delhi graduate, Anna Vyas presented a collection featuring monochrome dresses, skirts and co-ordinates that had a minimalist yet classy appeal.

One of the remarkable collections from the lot were from Lasil L - a Pearl Academy graduate. His unique imagination reflected in the collection which featured drama and creative elements.

Priya Arora, a Pearl Academy graduate, showcased a gorgeous collection which included metallic hues, structured silhouettes, power shoulders and more.

Another upcoming fashion designer from Pearl Academy, Shrankhla Sajal presented her collection which featured various hues of Grey in the form of dresses, skirts, co-ordinates etc.

For the second show of the day, leading designer Sonia Jetleey showcased her collection featuring hues of blue, flowy silhouettes and easy-to-style dresses.

Next we had the young designer Ankita Chaudhary of the label Saaj by Ankita present a stunning ethnic collection designed for the modern woman who loves to play around with her wardrobe. The collection highlighted a fusion of colors, technique and excellent craftsmanship.


Ankita used vibrant hues of orange, blue and pink in her collection that featured lehengas, sarees and more.

Mauritian designer Lida O' Reilly  showcased a collection of wedding dresses that reflected her sartorial statement in designer gowns which elegantly fit the body types of every woman.


Her collection featured dresses having exquisite details like use of semi-precious stones and swarovski crystals, beading, sequins, hand embroidery etc. on fabrics like raw silk, brocade etc.

Grand Finale designer Charu Parashar showcased a collection keeping in mind the modern bride's demand for an amazing Trousseau.
Her collection featured capes, peplum jackets, skirts, lehengas which the contemporary Indian bride can wear as separates at various occasions.


Redefining bridal couture by lending a subtle and minimal character to it, the collection has been designed keeping in mind the sensibilities and needs of "New Age Contemporary Bride".


Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar (Dum Laga ke Haisha fame) walked as the Showstopper for Charu Parashar's show. She wore a voluminous gold gown featuring intricate red embroidery which was styled with stunning jewellery that made her look like royalty.

Closing the evening at a thankful note, Robby Rawat, Director iGenius Entertainment said,

"We were very excited to open the first season of Asian Designer Week. Today we witnessed a beginning of new era in Asian fashion with stunning collections by leading designers from India and International fraternity. And that’s the concept behind Asian Designer Week – to strengthen the bond that exists between Asian countries with respect to the cultural values, traditions and heritage despite the diversities, with fashion and pure talent."

Well, it truly was a delight to watch and cover the first edition of Asian Designer Week which featuring such amazing talent and brought together established, NewGen and NextGen designers to an international platform.

Hope you all had a great Monday. I am just back in action after a hectic week and my birthday celebrations (which was yesterday) and have lined up many posts that will catch you fancy.

Starting the week and the month, the first post is actually also another First as its the coverage of the 1st Edition of Asian Designer Week powered by FTV - Fashion Crosses Borders. Being the Official Blogger for the event, we covered it Live through all our social media channels and Snapchat.

And here we are with the Day 1 Highlights of ADW 2015 :

The first edition of Asian Designer Week saw a Grand Opening with the show by leading designer Abhi Singh, renowned for his design sensibility with refined textures and innovative crafts.

Abhi Singh presented his collection titled Melancholy featuring designs rich in intricate embroidery and interesting use of threads.



Melancholy is all about a go-getter attitude and Abhi Singh reflected this attitude with use of dark and dusty colors in his designs. His collection featured interesting silhouettes, bodycon dresses, cape styles and more.

Asian Designer Week is committed towards promoting new talent, and therefore, the first day of the fashion week saw NewGen designers Hina Madhumal & Sonia Shre showcasing their latest collections.

Hina Madhumal is the face behind popular Spanish  fashion label - Hina’s Atelier which was launched in Shanghai in 2013.


She showcased an edgy and powerful collection called "Urban Warriors Modern Armour". Her collection was inspired by the struggle of today's women who are like warriors, one who are strong and confident about themselves. Her collection featured sequined gowns and exquisite applique work.




The one-shoulder sequined gown is my personal favorite and I can picture myself wearing it with confidence and style.

Sonia Shre’s collection for ADW2015 “IKAT” was an attempt to actually assimilate the traditional techniques of fabric weaving that have formed the back of Indian textile legacy with the contemporary styling and silhouettes that are so much a part of the International Fashion.



Leading actress Shriya Saran looked gorgeous as ever walking the ramp as Showstopper for Sonia’s collection in a traditional Anarkali suit.

Giving a stage to international designers, ADW had YOLANDA from Sri Lanka – who has been named as Asia’s top fashionable selling brand of the year’ at the Fashion Asia Awards in China - presented her international collection on the Day 1 of the Fashion week.


Her collection featured the complex art of silk painting and reflected her experience with natural fabrics and batik designs. Dresses featuring rainbow colors and stunning sarees were the highlights of her collection.

Indian Designer Rahul Singh who is an alumni of NIFT, and has worked with leading Bollywood actors, also showcased his powerful collection, aimed at mature, composed and calm women of substance, on Day 1.




Closing the first day of ADW 2015 was the Powerhouse of Talent and the very creative designer LARISA KATZ from Germany who left the audience spellbound with her timeless collection of dresses created with waste and recycled products to create awareness on global environmental & waste problems.

The first day of Asian Designer Week was a blast with a showcase of some amazing Indian and International talented designers and showed why ADW has been a platform like no other for promoting established and fresh talent.

Delhi is about to see the first edition of a one-of-its-kind Fashion Week, and yours truly is proud to associate with them as their Official Blogger.
I am writing about the first edition of Asian Designer Week that is being held in the capital the coming week and is about to take the Asian fashion industry by storm.


iGenius Entertainment, the brand owner of Asian Designer Week announced the schedule and the list of designers for the 1st season of Asian Designer Week powered by FTV – Fashion Crosses Borders, at a Press Conference that was held in F Bar, CP, Delhi on 23rd October.

The concept behind Asian Designer Week is that it embodies the strong bond that exists between Asian countries with respect to the cultural values, traditions and heritage despite the diversities.
The fashion event has been solely conceived for promoting the interests of fashion designers, choreographers, makeup artists, etc. across Asia.

 With Asian Designer Week, the team would also be giving an opportunity to existing and fresh talents across the continent, giving them a real-life exposure by being a part of this premium Fashion week.

The Press meet was addressed by Mr Robby Rawat, Director, iGenius Entertainment, Show Director Liza Varma, Hair and Makeup expert Samantha Kochhar, Rajan Madhu, Promoter Fashion TV (India), Charu Parashar, Grand Finale in the presence of leading Indian Designers and their Models who would be sashaying the ramp during the two-day event.

In a candid conversation with our editor, Ms. Liza Verma- Show Director, said that their vision behind bringing Asian Designer Week is to take the Asian fashion further in the global map and present our excellent work and creativity outside India.

 Designer Charu Parashar discussed how she has always supported new platforms like Asian Designer Week and in her Finale show, she will be showcasing Indian Bridal collection which will feature interesting Bridal Trousseau pieces that can be used in multiple ways by the modern brides.


















Mr. Rajan Madhu, Promoter FTV , shared how this is the first endeavor by the global Fashion channel to provide exposure to Asian Designers and present their excellent work to the International audience.

The shows are on the 28th and 29th of October 2015 at Hotel Golden Tulip, Chattarpur, New Delhi.
